Title: Big Daddy
Genre: Short film
Director: Chris Ihidero
Year: 2012
Big Daddy is all about the physical and psychological effects of rape and child abuse. Approaching the issue from a common yet forsaken angle and using the Yoruba language makes the short film easy to relate with. Unfortunately, it had not-so-great acting and sound production. Also, it went off mark a bit by going beyond showing the pain of a molested young girl who grew into an emotionally disturbed woman into depicting women (represented by the two female characters in it) as a weak irrational gender that resort to crime for justice. Not a pretty picture, but a good cause.
