Vengeance is Mine is a story of how a young woman gets even with a musician who raped her eight years ago. The short film raises questions in me regarding how victims truly react to rape. Aside from the actors’ cranky performance, the short film appeared slightly unreal. Understandably this short film doesn’t subscribe to the school of thought of folding hands while societal ills abound, but it wrongly portrayed its victim as a fragile person, while her final actions contradicted the portrayal. But then desperation has no limits. Notwithstanding, the message is undeniably strong. Stand against rape, take action.
