The winners of the Homevida 2014 Short Script Competition have been announced. ‘Money Makeover’ written by Brenda Ogbuka has won in the Investors Protection Category endowed by Securities and Exchange Commission. ‘Lost Children’ by Tunde Apalowo, ‘Kelechi’ by Onyinye Muomah and ‘Homecoming’ by Brenda Ogbuka have won the Best Anti-Trafficking in Persons scripts by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and funded by the European Union (EU). Orimogunje Damilola Elijah’s script ‘Child’s Bride’ has emerged winner in the Human Development Category endowed by the United Nations Millennium Campaign (UNMC). The winners of this competition will receive a cash prize of N100, 000 (one hundred thousand naira) as well as the opportunity to have their scripts turned into short films. They would also participate in a one-day seminar organised by some of Nollywood’s best directors, screenwriters and filmmakers.
