Welcome fimvillage.com the first Nollywood social community

A new social community for the growing Nollywood fan base to interact with one another and with their favorite celebrities has been launched by Ekom Otu, the product head at the African online TV site 9flix.

The online social community which has a traditional village setting with user levels ranking from a common villager up to “Igwe” and Queen is a first of its kind which carries useful information on Celebrity news, movie role audition calls and a system of movie and celebrity ratings, a forum called the Town hall and Nollywood games including Scramble and Star love, a very addictive fun game to rate your love for your favorite stars.

“The main purpose of FimVillage is to connect the large growing number of African movie lovers around the world. This is going to be the first African platform that will give its users the ability to not only rate a movie, but to also express their feeling by reviewing it and connect with the actors, actresses and producers for their messages to serve as feedback.” Said Ekom Otu. He also adds that “many Africans search all over the Internet to see if there is any information at all about audition for roles and the producers do not have a specific platform to post theirs either to reach their potential casts. FimVillage will end this problem.”

FimVillage aspires to be the connected home of the Nollywood community including stars and producers interacting with their fans. The site already gets hundreds of users a day and as it launches officially, it plans to be one of the busiest user generated content sites in Nigeria.
