Two Nigerian productions: Render to Caesar and Aissa’s Story will be showing at the 24th edition of Festival of Pan African Cinema (FESPACO) in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. This year’s festival will run from 28 February through to 5 March 2015. Written, produced and directed by Desmond Ovbiagele, Render to Caesar is a 2014 Nigerian crime thriller starring Wale Ojo, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Omoni Oboli and Bimbo Manuel. Aissa’s Story is an award winning short film by Iquo B. Essien which tells the story of Aissatou Ba, an African immigrant maid and single mother who must decide whether to move on with her life or fight when the case against the hotel guest who assaulted her is dismissed. There are all together 86 films in official competition for FESPACO 2015. 20 of the films will compete in the main category while 22 films have been shortlisted in the short film category. There are 20 films for the documentary category while 9 films will slug it out in the television series category.
