Title: Black November

Genre: Thriller

Director: Jeta Amata

Year: 2015

Black November falls flat and it is writer-director-producer Jeta Amata’s fault. From the unintelligent script to the lacklustre acting and television style directing, it is a mishmash of good intentions gone wrong. At first, it has the makings of a hit with a car chase in LA but takes later, the movie goes into melodrama mode. Everyone is shouting (in various accents) for screen time; begging to be listened to and believed. And when Mbong Amata’s legs dangle in the closing shot, rather than cry, we breathe a sigh of relief that is all over for her – and for us.
