All is set for the third edition of the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) which holds today Saturday 7 March, 2015. Award winning artistes; 2Face Idibia, P-Square and Diamond are just some of the superstars billed to perform at the show which will air live on all Africa Magic channels at 5 pm Nigerian time.Hosting the 2015 AMVCAs are Big Brother Africa host, IK Osakioduwa, and Zimbabwean television personality and host of StarGist, Vimbai Mutinhiri.
The show will also feature a performance by DonJazzy and the Mavins crew courtesy AMVCA associate sponsors, MTN. Regional Director, M-Net (West), Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, said: “The AMVCAs were created to celebrate the contribution of African filmmakers, actors and technicians in the success of the continent’s film and television industry. The number and quality of entries for this year’s edition are a great improvement on the previous editions and the show promises to be exciting for our viewers across the continent.”
The event promises to be spectacular as guests at the show and viewers at home will be treated to the best entertainment from some of Africa’s finest talents including 2Face Idibia, Lola Rae, The Mavins crew, Basket Mouth amongst others.The first edition of the AfricaMagic Viewers’ Choice Awards ceremony took place in Lagos on the 9th of March, 2013, and was broadcast live from Lagos to DStv and GOtv audiences in more than 50 countries across the continent.
In the 2014 edition, multi-award winning actress, Nse Ikpe-Etim, took home the award for best actress in Michele Racca’s Journey To Self while Ghanaian film producer/director, Shirley Frimpong-Manso’s movie The Contract won in several categories.
The 2014 AMVCAs also saw renowned film and TV veteran, Pete Edochie, winning the prestigious lifetime achievement award. “We can’t wait to find out who the winners are. We are as excited as our viewers at home and I invite them to tune in and enjoy the show!”
