The nominations for the 2015 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) will take place on 20 June 2015 while the awards ceremony will hold on 26 September 26 2015.

Over 800 films from 60 different countries were received for this year’s edition. The jury comprises Keith Shiri, a Zimbabwean, film festival organizer and programmer; Ayuko Babu, Director, Pan-African Film Festival in Los Angeles, John Akomfrah (OBE), a Ghanaian-British filmmaker; Shaibu Husseini, Nigerian journalist and film critic. Others are Prof. Hyginus Ekwuazi, a Nigerian Film academic from University of Ibadan; Steve Ayorinde, a Nigerian senior journalist and film critic and Berni Goldblat, a Swedish and Film festival organiser, Dorothee Wenner, Berlin Film Festival Curator; June Givanni, London based West Indian Film Festival programmer, Dr. Asantewa Olatunji, Co-Director of Pan-African Film Festival in Los Angeles, United States as well as Charles Burnett; an American and Filippe Savadogo, a former Minister of Culture, Tourism and Communications in Burkina Faso.
