Fifty returns on EbonyLife TV for season 2

Fans are set to enjoy the much-awaited second season of the blockbuster TV drama, Fifty. Based on the lives of four 50-year-old women, the series tells the captivating stories of Tola, Elizabeth, Maria and Kate. Season two aired last week (February 1), on EbonyLife TV, DStv 165 at 8:30 pm (WAT). The hype for the series premiere last July was intense, particularly because it was a spin-off of the movie, Fifty – the biggest Nollywood movie of 2015, and it lived up to expectations.

The premiere picked up from the jaw-dropping season one finale, when Lizzie got a very rude shock – finding out via text message that Francis fled with all the money donated for the opening of her women’s clinic. Audiences will discover how she picks up the pieces of her shattered heart and manages to clean up the enormous mess he left behind. Season two is definitely gearing up to be an exhilarating television experience.

For audiences who might be new to the series, here’s a rundown. In the first season, we saw Lizzie get married to Francis, a man she barely knew; Tola and Kunle divorced; Maria and Kunle lost their baby; and Jamal began the hunt for his father. The drama didn’t end there. Maria and Kunle got married; Kate had a double mastectomy but found out the cancer never left; Kunle’s forgotten twin daughters showed up; Sade began dating a gorgeous DJ; and Chike went back to old, destructive habits – giving Francis ill-gotten money.

If audiences thought the first season packed a punch, season two will be a knockout. Fans will enjoy racier plots, more brilliant acting and even higher production values this time around.

Fifty airs every Thursday night, at 8:30 pm WAT (9:30 pm CAT) on EbonyLife TV, DStv 165, exclusively on EbonyLife TV.
