The word assistant general refers to someone or something that offers a supporting role. So, when one hears the phrase ‘assistant madams’, one would ordinarily think that that these are ladies/women who lend a helping hand to their bosses or spouses. Hmm! This is not the case o! Assistant Madams now means the same as what used to be ‘aristo girls’, ‘runs girls’, et cetera.

Assistant Madams is a Red TV series that takes us through the journey of three young women – Chioma (Osas Ighodaro), Tamara (Sophie Alakija) and Lara (Tana Adelana) who do not care whose ox is gored in a bid to ‘hammer’. These ladies frolic with all sorts of men, swindling them of outrageous sums of money in the name of ‘investments’. They cheat, they lie and they betray easily.

The first eyeopener is the title of the series itself. It is the latest title for ladies who are liberal with their sexuality.

You lose more when you decide to hop from one beauty queen/slay mama to the other. In other words, faithfulness is key as there is no better woman outside.

To keep your man, you’ve got to slay! If you refuse to look good, there are ladies out there doing a better job and willing to catch his eye.

Be careful who you entrust your funds to and who you partner with. Chioma’s betrayal of Tamara and Lara as revealed in Episode 9, the final episode of season one is a big lesson among others that can be drawn from the series.

Sophie Alakija

This series is revealing! We get to see how ‘runs-girls’ operate and why. It is a worthy company this weekend, in case you missed it earlier.
