There is a plan by Netflix to cut down on the stream quality in Africa for 30 days.
The Covid-19 outbreak has brought on a lot of pressures from every angle and the internet is not left out. This is why Netflix has decided to cut down on the ‘streaming bitrate’ by 25% across Africa till the end of April.
This is not the first time that Netflix is doing this as this has been done in other countries too, in the past.
Ken Florance, the vice-president of content delivery of Netflix, assures that this will not affect the quality of the service.
In the same vein, YouTube has also announced a possible reduction in video quality in a bid to ease the strain on the network worldwide.
