The Federal Government has, by way of easing the effect of COVID-19 on the broadcasting industry, directed the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to give a two-month waiver to terrestrial broadcast stations in Nigeria.
‘I have approved the request by the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, to grant a two-month licence-fee waiver for terrestrial broadcast stations in Nigeria,’ Alhaji Lai Mohammed states.

The new move was announced by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, at a meeting with the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria. He also announced the setting up of a committee of creative industry stakeholders, saddled with the responsibility of advising the Federal Government on the effect of the pandemic on the industry.
