Amina, Izu Ojukwu’s 2017 movie about the legendary Queen Amina of Zazzau, will be available for streaming on Netflix from November 4, 2021.
The filmmaker shared the news via his Instagram handle earlier today.
Queen Amina was a 16th century Hausa warrior-queen of Zazzau empire, in Zaria, whose daring courage and conviction set loose a series of upheavals that altered the fate of her people in ways that none could have thought possible.
The period movie was produced by Okey Ogunjiofo and stars Lucy Ameh, Ali Nuhu, Clarion Chukwura, Yakubu Mohammed and Magaji Mijinyawa.
