Funke Akindele-Bello’s Omo Ghetto: The Saga has won the Meta Cinema Award in the 2020/2021 highest-grossing title in Africa category.

Omo Ghetto: The Saga is a sequel to the 2010 movie, Omo Ghetto. It follows the story of Lefty (one half of a twin) and her shenanigans with her ghetto crew. The 2020 comedy-drama stars Funke Akindele-Bello (Lefty), Nancy Isime, Eniola Badmus, Naira Marley, Chioma Akpotha, Bimbo Thomas, Zubby Michael, Tina Mba, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Deyemi Okanlawon, Mercy Aigbe and Chigul.
With a gross earning of ₦636.1 million, Omo Ghetto: The Saga is currently the highest-grossing Nigerian movie of all time. It is directed by JJC Skillz and Funke Akindele-Bello and produced by SceneOne Productions.
The META Cinema Forum is the largest cinema convention, covering the Middle East and African markets. The event has grown over the years to include more regions, more projects, more partners and become the single most important regional gathering for the cinema sector.
The 2021 META Cinema Forum is in partnership with Comscore, an international box office data collation company. Comscore provides data science and vast audience insights across digital, linear TV, over-the-top (OTT), and theatrical viewership.
