Founded by Naz Onuzo, Zulumoke Oyibo and Damola Ademola on 1 December 2011, Inkblot Studios is the brain behind different Nollywood blockbusters including the second and third highest-grossing Nigerian movies to date, The Wedding Party 1&2. Other films to its credit are Up North, Love is War, Moms at War, Quam’s Money, New Money, The Set Up, The Arbitration and Charge and Bail.
The production company, which recently became the first African studio to sign a content deal with Amazon Prime Video, held an event on Sunday, 19 December 2021, to mark its ten years’ anniversary and premiere its upcoming thriller, Superstar.
Superstar follows the story of Queen, an up-and-coming actress, as she navigates life and love in 21st century Nollywood. The film stars Nancy Isime, Daniel Etim Effiong, Adunni Ade, Timini Egbuson, Deyemi Okanlawon, Ufuoma McDermott, Teniola Aladese, Eku Edewor. Superstar will be in cinemas from 29 December 2021.
The double celebration event was attended by friends and lovers of Inkblot including actors, directors, ex-reality stars and more. Notable mentions include Daniel Etim Effiong, Denrele Edun, Niyi Akinmolayan, Beverly Osu, Eku Edewor and of course the studio’s founders.
