Welcome to the second quarter of 2022! Nollywood is set to thrill viewers with lots of interesting releases this second quarter. Like we always do, we have compiled a list of Nigerian movies to expect in cinemas and Netflix this April. Enjoy!

I Am Nazzy – April 1, 2022

I Am Nazzy is a romantic comedy directed by Kayode Peters and produced by Chinonso Arubayi. It features Nollywood faves such as Jidekene Achufusi, IK Ogbonna, Denrele Edun, Jimmy Odukoya, Ada Jesus, Chioma Nwosu and Jay Rammal.

I Am Nazzy tells the story of how a fast-rising music artist’s picture-perfect life suddenly went haywire when she accidentally switches places with a doppelganger. All attempts to prove her identity are futile and she is subjected to a whole new life without the glitz and glamour. Will she lose herself or embark on a journey of self-discovery?

King of Thieves – April 8, 2022

If you love epic thrillers then you should watch out for Femi Adebayo’s King of Thieves. The thriller tells the story of Ajeromi Kingdom’s quest to rid itself of a notorious robber named Ageshinkole.

King of Thieves features a star-studded cast including Femi Adebayo, Odunlade Adekola, Toyin Abraham, Peju Ogunmola, Ibrahim Chatta, Lateef Adedimeji, Joke Muyiwa, Kunle Afod, Adebayo Salami, Ebun Oloyede, Kayode Olaiya, Debo Adedayo, Dele Odule and many others.

Directed by Adebayo Tijani and Tope Adebayo Salami, King of Thieves will be in cinemas from 8 April 2022. Click here to watch the teaser.

The Blood Covenant – April 15, 2022

Starring Tobi Bakre, Erica Nlewedim, Alexx Ekubo, Shawn Faqua, Uzor Arukwe and Omowunmi Dada, The Blood Covenant is an Inkblot Productions film.

The Blood Covenant follows the story of three ambitious young men who are struggling to make it and are tired of being looked down upon. To chase the fast life, they are seduced into blood money rituals and get caught up in a world of money and luxury, oblivious to the damage that will stem from their choice.

The Blood Covenant is directed by Fiyin Gambo and written by Chiemeka Osuagwu and Chinaza Onuzo. Watch the teaser below.

The Man Of God – April 16, 2022

Starring Akah Nnani in the lead role, The Man Of God is a drama about a man’s thirst for money and power. Other stars in the feature film include Osas Ighodaro, Mawuli Gavor, Patrick Doyle, Dorcas Shola Fapson, Jude Chkwuka and Atlanta Bridget.

The Man Of God is a Netflix original directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters. It will start streaming on Netflix from 16 April 2022. Watch the trailer here.

The Man For The Job – April 29, 2022

Lovers of crime thrillers should get ready for Niyi Akinmolayan’s The Man For The Job.

The Man For The Job stars Temi Otedola, Uzor Arukwe, Ini Edo, Ibrahim Suleiman, Lolade Okusanya, Ali Baba and Nosa Rex. It tells the story of how a hardworking and vibrant young man navigating his family and work life is soon furled up by the plot of an overtly optimistic startup CEO.
