Femi Adebayo’s epic movie, King Of Thieves: Agesinkole, is currently sitting at the top of the Nigerian box office with a 300 million naira gross earning.
The movie, which hit cinemas on April 8, 2022, has enjoyed positive reviews from its first weekend and is now the highest-grossing indigenous Nigerian movie ever made and the top-earning 2022 Nigerian movie. That’s not all, it has also moved up to number 5 on the ‘List of Highest Grossing Nigerian Movies,’ displacing Sugar Rush, which previously owned that slot.
But the good news does not end there for the Tope Adebayo Salami and Adebayo Tijani-directed movie. It has also been confirmed that King Of Thieves will be heading to Amazon Prime Video after its run at the cinemas.
This is great news for the Euphoria360 and Anthill Studios team whose collaboration birthed the epic thriller.
King of Thieves tells the story of Ajeromi Kingdom’s quest to rid itself of a notorious robber named Ageshinkole. The film features a star-studded cast including Femi Adebayo, Odunlade Adekola, Toyin Abraham, Peju Ogunmola, Ibrahim Chatta, Lateef Adedimeji, Joke Muyiwa, Kunle Afod, Adebayo Salami, Ebun Oloyede, Kayode Olaiya, Debo Adedayo, Dele Odule and many others.
The film is still going strong in cinemas and we can only wonder how much it would gross after its cinema run.
