Film Africa is the Royal African Society’s biennial London festival, celebrating the best African and African diaspora cinema from across the continent. Now in its tenth year, Film Africa has become a key platform for African film in London and the UK.

Asides from the opportunity to showcase your work to an international audience, filmmakers also stand a chance of winning the Baobab Award for Best Short Film (with a £1,000 cash prize) or the Film Africa Audience Award for Best Feature Film (also with a £1,000 cash prize).

Criteria for the awards include:

1. Films that have been made by African and African diaspora filmmakers only.
3. Films that have been completed in the last two years only.
4. Both awards cover works of fiction only (including experimental). Documentaries will be considered for the main programme but will not be eligible for the awards.
