Yahoo+ – July 1

Opening the door to cinema releases this July is Yahoo+, a crime thriller about the social malaise spreading across Nigeria.

Yahoo + is a Nollywood thriller about two yahoo boys whose plan to go plus takes a different turn when one of the runs girls they intend to use for the required human sacrifice turns out to be one of their girlfriends.

The movie features Ken Erics, Somadina Adinma, Ifeoma Obinwa, Lilian Echelon, Lorenzo Menakaya, Echelon Mbadiwe and Keezyto. It is written and directed by Ebuka Njoku and produced by Lorenzo Menakaya and Ebuka Njoku.

Tiger’s Tail – July 22

Produced and directed by Victor Okpala, Tiger’s Tail is follows the story of how a lady’s ambition to do good gets her into trouble with a crime lord.

The crime thriller stars Alexx Ekubo, Tacha Akide, Zubby Michael, Kelechi Udegbe, Anita Joseph, Nosa Rex, Eniola Badmus, Etinosa Idemudia, Stephen Damian, Bofie Itombra, Melvin Oduah, Bukunmi Ajiboye and Omoefe Henry Udoruisi.

Synopsis:

Amara Nzewi, a recent UK graduate of Psychology, has no idea she is stepping on the wrong toes when she starts a foundation to rehabilitate street boys but things get really ugly when she is kidnapped by a ruthless gang leader, Tombra Tiger.

Money Miss Road – July 22

From Obi Emelonye, the director of Badamasi, comes this new drama titled Money Miss Road.

Money Miss Road tells the story of two down-on-their-luck friends, Josh2Funny and Jidekene Achufusi, who find a stash of money belonging to a criminal on the run, Charly Boy Oputa. But just when they are getting used to their new flashy lifestyle, the criminal comes calling. Friendships are tested and the two friends must choose between continuing their sweet life or giving up everything to save their family.

Hey You – July 29

Starring Timini Egbuson and Efe Irele, Hey You is a romance drama from Anthill Studios.

Directed by Uyoyou Adia and produced by Victoria Akujobi, other stars in Hey You include Seyi Awolowo, Tope Olowoniyan, Stan Nze, Miriam Peters and Tunbosun Aiyedehin.

Choke – July 29

Kanayo O. Kanayo and Chimezie Imo are the lead characters in Choke. Produced by Chris Odeh and directed by Orimz, other stars in Choke include Norbert Young, Gloria Young, Trinity Ugonabo and Nkem Andrea Marchie.

Prophetess – July 8

The first Nigerian title coming to Netflix this July is Anthill Studios’ Prophetess.

Prophetess is a 2021 comedy-drama directed by Niyi Akinmolayan. It follows the story of a prophecy about a football match and the confusion that broke out after it failed. Prophetess stars Toyin Abraham in the lead role, Kunle Remi, Deyemi Okanlawon, Lateef Adedimeji, Tina Mba, Stan Nze, Blessing Obasi, Uzor Arukwe, Kehinde Bankole and Seyi Awolowo.

My Village People – July 22

This is a comedy thriller that follows the story of a philandering man who meets his match in a love triangle with witches. Directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, My Village People stars Binta Ayo Mogaji, Rachel Oniga, Nkem Owoh, Sophie Alakija, Charles Inojie, Venita Akpofure, Ada Ameh and Amaechi Muonagor.

The Ghost And The Tout Too – July 25

Released in cinemas in September 2021, Toyin Abraham’s The Ghost And The Tout Too is a sequel to her 2018 The Ghost And The Tout comedy-drama. The drama stars Toyin Abraham, Osas Ighodaro, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, Lateef Adedimeji, Muyiwa Ademola, Iyabo Ojo, Real Warri Pikin, Adebayo Ridwan (Isbae U), Kolawole Ajeyemi, Ini Edo, Destiny Etiko and Deyemi Okanlawon.
