Barely two weeks after its release, Glamour Girls has clinched the number 5 spot on Netlfix’s Global Top 10 List, a weekly top 10 list of the most-watched TV and films on Netflix. This was after it accumulated a total of 12,390,000 watch hours on the streamer.
Released on June 24 to a mixed reception by Nigerians, Glamour Girls first hit the Global Top 10 List within three days after which it achieved this new feat. This is similar to EbonyLife Studios’ Blood Sisters, which got 11 million hours of viewership in the first five days of its premiere. Another similarity both works share is that they are both Netflix Originals. Charles Okpaleke’s Glamour Girls, however, is the first Nigerian film to make it to the number 5 spot.
Glamour Girls follows the story of five ladies as they navigate the fast lane as high-end escorts. It features Nse Ikpe Etim, Toke Makinwa, Sharon Ooja, Segilola Ogidan, Femi Branch, Ejike Asiegbu, Taymesan Emmanuel, Uzor Arukwe, Joselyn Dumas, Jammal Ibrahim, Chukie “Lynxx” Edozien and Gloria Anozie.
