Funke Akindele Announces Decision To Join 2023 Lagos Gubernatorial Race, Becomes PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate

First actor, later director and producer, Funke Akindele is now veering into politics as she joins the Lagos gubernatorial race.

The Omo Ghetto director posted a video on Instagram, announcing her decision to be the deputy gubernatorial candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming 2023 general elections. The governorship candidate for the party is Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor).

Akindele was recently in the news following her invitation to join the Film Academy and also after her husband, JJC Skillz, announced their separation.
