The Surreal16 Collective and A Whitespace Creative Agency’s collaborative festival, S16 Film Festival, will return for its second edition December 9 – 12, 2022 at the old Federal Printing Press in Lagos.

The 2022 edition of the festival will span four days and “film lovers will be treated to a series of new wave cinema, live conversations, exhibition and a themed party.”

According to the organisers, “the second edition of the S16 Film Festival will go back in time to celebrate the historical development of Nigeria cinema by paying homage to two iconic Nigerian filmmakers who carved a unique style and path in the Nigerian film industry.”

The maiden S16 Film Festival held December 10 – 11 last year. Twelve films were screened at the event including Amjad Abu Alala’s You Will Die At 20, Michael Omonua, Abba T. Makama and C.J “Fiery” Obasi’s Juju Stories and Tomisin Adepeju’s Appreciation.

The 2022 S16 Film Festival is made possible by the S16 Collective in collaboration with A Whitespace Creative Agency, Fatherland and Oak Advisory.

Surreal16 Collective is a Nigerian cinema collective founded by Abba T. Makama, C.J “Fiery” Obasi and Michael Omonua.
