It’s officially the last quarter of 2022 and Nollywood is abuzz with lots of yet-to-be-released titles. For September, we’ve compiled a list of eight titles that will be heading to cinemas and Netflix. Read on to see them.
Coming to Cinemas
Passport – September 2
Starring Jim Iyke and Mercy Johnson-Okojie in the lead roles, Passport follows the story of Oscar (Jim Iyke), who is constrained to work with a set of ghetto ladies to recover his stolen passport or risk missing an important family function.
Passport is directed by Dimeji Ajibola and produced by Vincent Okonkwo. Other stars in the ghetto comedy are Lateef Adedimeji, Jide Kosoko, Zubby Michaels, Emem Ufot, Nasboi, Lina Idoko, Caroline Igben, Daniel Abua and Stephen Damian.

Inside Life – September 9
Inside Life is inspired by a true life story captured in Prison Notes, a book written by Lanre Olorunsola. It tells the story of a groom-to-be who is wrongfully incarcerated a few days before his wedding.
The film is produced by Chuks Enete and directed by Tope Adebayo. It features Wole Ojo, Samuel Perry (Broda Shaggi), Nedu Wazobia, Hafiz ‘Saka’ Oyetoro, Tina Mba, Funsho Adeolu, Romeo WJ, Koloman Prosper, Belinda Effah, Eric Obinna and more.

Brotherhood – September 23
Brotherhood follows the story of two brothers, Akin and Wale (played by Folarin “Falz” Falana and Tobi Bakre), who find themselves on opposite sides of the law. The film is written by Jade Osiberu and Abdul Tijani-Ahmed.
Other stars in Brotherhood are Bright “Basketmouth” Akpocha, Debo “Mr Macaroni” Adedayo, Mercy Aigbe, Zubby Michael, Toni Tones, Sam Dede, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Dorathy Bachor, OC Ukeje, Omawumi, Jidekene Achufusi, Deyemi Okanlawon, Diane Russet, Seyi Awolowo and Boma Akpore.

Ticket to Life – September 23
Produced by Eugene Enogwe and directed by Geshin Salvador, Ticket to Life features Linda Osifo, Tina Mba, Sambasa Nzeribe, Chirstian Ochiagha and Kubra Emokpaire.
It tells the story of Nafisat who comes to Lagos from Osogbo in search of greener pastures. She soon realises that the grasses are not as greener as it seems after discovering a haunting secret. She must then make a deal with an archenemy to preserve her only means of survival against another enemy.

Coming to Netflix
Collision Course – September 2
Collision Course is a heart-thumping story told in 24 hours about the lives of a law enforcement agent and an aspiring musician. It explores the seedy underbelly of rogue law enforcement officers and the painful and atrocious results of their actions as they collide head-on with the struggling musician and the conflicted member of the police force.
Directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters, the film stars Daniel Etim Effiong, Kelechi Udegbe, Chioma Akpotha, Bammy Bestowed, Bimbo Manuel, Norbert Young, Ade Laoye, Kenneth Okolie, Greg Ojefua, Mikel John, Tobi Odunsi, Salako Eniola, Keside Francis-Anosike and Remi Okunola.

Finding Hubby 2 – September 16
Finding Hubby 2 is a sequel to the 2020 romance drama Finding Hubby. The first part followed the story of Oyin Clegg and her friends’ quest to find partners. It is an adaptation of a blog series written by Tunde Leye.
Directed by Femi D Ogunsanwo, Finding Hubby 2 stars Kehinde Bankole, Ade Laoye, Omowunmi Dada, Munachi Abii and more. Although Finding Hubby had a theatrical run in 2020 before it became available on Netflix in 2021, Finding Hubby 2 is premiering on Netflix exclusively come September 16.
Aníkúlápó – September 30
Aníkúlápó (he who has death in his pouch) follows the story of Saro, a sojourner who finds his way to Oyo in search of greener pastures. There he finds favour, and things begin to change for good. Unfortunately, he found love in a forbidden place, longed for the abominable, and eventually got caught in a web of lust.
The film stars Bimbo Ademoye, Kunle Remi, Sola Sobowale, Taiwo Hassan, Moji Afolayan, Ronke Ojo, Hakeem Kae Kazeem, Aisha Lawal, Adebowale Adedayo, Kareem Adepoju, Faithia Balogun and more. It is directed by Kunle Afolayan.

Aki and Pawpaw – September 30
Aki And Pawpaw is a remake of the 2002 Aki Na Ukwa movie, a movie that shot the star actors, Osita Iheme (Pawpaw) and Chinedu Ikediezie (Aki), to the limelight.
The remake, which debuted in cinemas in December 2021, is directed by Biodun Stephen and produced by the trio of Mimidoo (Achineku) Bartels, Chris Odeh and Agozie Ugwu.
The film has a mix of old and new cast members, including Osita Iheme, Chinedu Ikedieze, Hanks Anuku, Stan Nze, Toyin Abraham, Funnybone, Amaechi Muonagor, Juliet Ibrahim, Real Warri Pikin, Lasisi Elenu, Michael “Mc Lively” Sani, Blessing Obasi, Beverly Osu, Francis Sule, Uti Nwachukwu, Sam Uche and more.
