Progressive Tailors Club, a new comedy satire from Anthill Studios, premiered to private guests on Sunday, 24 October 2021, at the IMAX Cinemas, Lekki, Lagos.
The movie follows the story of members of a tailors’ association, Progressive Tailors Club, who have gathered for a meeting to elect their new leader. However, when a longstanding, trusted executive is eliminated for corruption, it comes down to a choice between the old, the new and the ridiculous.
Progressive Tailors Club is directed by Biodun Stephen, produced by Victoria Akujobi and Niyi Akinmolayan. It stars Rachel Oniga, Jaiye Kuti, Femi Adebayo, Lateef Adedimeji, Beverly Osu, Lizzy Jay, Blessing Obasi, Kolawole Ajeyemi and many more.
The movie’s premiere, which was held ahead of its 29 October cinema release date, was attended by invited members of the public including the movie’s cast and crew. Some of the notable celebrities at the premiere included Etinosa Idemudia, Beverly Osu, Jaiye Kuti, Biodun Stephen, Bolaji Ogunmola, Toyin Abraham, Stan Nze, Blessing Obasi, Deyemi Okanlawon, Lizzy Jay, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Lateef Adedimeji and Niyi Akinmolayan.
Some of the guests showed up in colourful Ankara asoebi material, giving a much-needed flair to the event.
