Bolanle Austen-Peters Is Set To Produce Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti’s Biopic

Have you ever wondered about the life of the iconic Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, the woman of many firsts? You are not alone and Bolanle Austen-Peters is set to satisfy that curiosity.

The talented thespian has announced that her production company, Bolanle Austen-Peters Productions (BAP Productions), will be telling the story of the late matriarch of the Kuti family, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti.

She shared the news on Instagram with the caption:

Joke Silva, Kehinde Bankole, Omowunmi Dada, Ibrahim Suleiman and Patrick Diabuah are some of the actors tapped to appear in the biopic.

For those who don’t know, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti was a women’s rights activist and mother of the legendary musician, Fela Kuti. She was the first woman to drive a car, the first female student at the Abeokuta Grammar School and the first woman to form a political union, The Abeokuta Women’s Union.
