Living in Bondage was about a struggling Andy Okeke (played by Kenneth Okonkwo), who tired of his poverty, decided to join a cult that promised him a financial turnaround. The cult however required a human sacrifice, and Andy had no option than to sacrifice his wife. The consequences of this action formed the backdrop on which Living in Bondage played out.

27 years later, the movie’s sequel titled Living in Bondage: Breaking Free is about Nnamdi, Andy Okeke’s son, whose taste for a lavish lifestyle leads him on a journey similar to that of his father.
