Nolywood has experienced so many talented acts since her inception. As many as the actors are, there are some acts that stand out. If the discussion was on people who are wicked, names like Alex Usifo, Patience Ozokwor, Chinwetalu Agu, Sola Sobowale, and so on. But in terms of comedy, particularly when it comes to the Yoruba movie industry, names like Baba Suwe (Babatunde Omidina), Baba Wande (Alhaji Kareem Adepoju), Latin (Bolaji Amusan), Lola Idije (Toyin Afolayan), and of course, Pa Kasumu (Kayode Amusan), among several others.
Pa Kasumu is an Ogun state indigene born in Oyo state on March 16, 1953. He started his acting career very early at the tender age of 15. He started with a play titled Iyawo Orun in 1968. Pa Kasumu’s peculiar nasal tone and habit of making fun of every situation despite his serious countenance distinguished him every time. His most memorable works include Sango: The Legendary African King (1998), Jesu Mushin (2002), Babie A (2003) and Tales of Eve: Simi (2002).
He won a whooping sum of 500,000NGN at the famous Who Wants to be a Millionaire in 2014. He was also one of the beneficiaries ‘Nolly Veteran SOS Project 2019’ launched by Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola.

He took his last bow on March 1, 2020, after a protracted illness at 68. This was announced by Foluke Daramola on her instagram handle @folukedaramolasalako. Without mincing words, Pa Kasumu’s legacy would continue as his absence is greatly missed.
