The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has announced the approval of the appointment of Comedian Ali Baba, Segun Arinze and others, by President Buhari for a special committee.
With the spate at which the coronavirus pandemic has been operating, it is no news that heads of states are doing all they can to curb the spread of the pandemic and get life back to normal. President Muhammadu Buhari is not left behind in this move either. That is why he has set up a Special Committee of Creative Industry Stakeholders.
The said committee is saddled with the responsibility of advising the Federal Government on how to reduce the effect of the pandemic on different industries and how to handle the problem of job losses at a time like this.
The astute comedian, Ali Baba has been named the Chairman of the committee while Anita Eboigbe of the News Agency of Nigeria is the secretary. Other members of the committe include Bolanle Austen Peters, Dare Art Alade, Efe Omoregbe, Charles Novia, Baba Agba, Ali Jita, and other individuals in the field of entertainment.
Adressing the matter further Lai Mohammed comments that ‘we have, therefore, decided that instead of addressing this problem piecemeal, we should do so holistically for a more positive outcome’.
