Here Love Lies, an upcoming film from Tope Oshin, has earned the ReFrame Stamp award for gender balance in crewing and storytelling, the first Nigerian film to earn the stamp.

The prolific actress and director shared the news in a post on her Instagram handle.

The ReFrame Stamp is presented in partnership with IMDbPro and it serves as a mark of distinction for film/TV projects that have demonstrated gender-balanced hiring. To earn the stamp, a film must achieve four points within the eight defined qualifying categories with at least two points in the categories of female director, writer, and lead actor and double points awarded for women of colour in important positions.

Here Love Lies is a psychological thriller that follows the story of Amanda and Michael who strike up a relationship on social media. The lovebirds’ decision to have a physical meet up in the US leads to more than they expected. The film features Tope Oshin, Tina Mba, Sam Dede, Tim Shelburne, Omozele Gabriel, Barbara Walsh, Omowunmi Dada, Daniel Etim Effiong, Moyo Lawal and Angel Unigwe.
