Written and directed by the trio of C.J. “Fiery” Obasi, Abba T. Makama and Michael Omonua, Juju Stories is a three-part anthology film that explores magical realism rooted in Nigerian folklore.
The film is produced by Oge Obasi and features Timini Egbuson, Elvis Poko, Don Ekwuazi, Nengi Adoki, Bukola Oladipupo, Belinda Agedah Yanga and Paul Utomi.
Synopsis
Juju Stories tackles juju in contemporary Lagos through three stories. In Love Potion by Michael Omonua, an unmarried woman agrees to use juju to find herself an ideal mate. Abba T. Makama’s Yam explores the consequences that follow a street urchin’s decision to pick up random money from the roadside. In Suffer the Witch, C.J. “Fiery” Obasi looks at the love, friendship and obsession that come with a young college woman attracting her crush’s interest.
