In June 2021, prolific filmmaker Tunde Kelani premiered Ayinla, a biopic about the legendary musician, Ayinla Yusuf, aka Ayinla Omowura. The film was received with much acclaim, grossing over 91 million naira at the box office. Come May 27, 2022, Ayinla will be available for streaming on Netflix.
Featuring Lateef Adedimeji as Ayinla, the film was shot in Abeokuta. Other casts in the biopic are Bimbo Ademoye, Omowunmi Dada, Ade Laoye, Debo “Mr Macaroni” Adedayo, Bimbo Manuel and Kunle Afolayan. Ayinla is produced by Jadesola Osiberu.
